چکیده
Clinical and subclinical mastitis (SCM), mostly related to intramammary infection (IMI), is prevalent in pastoralist camel herds. An IMI has implications for public animal health as well household economy. As bacterial culturing expensive, time consuming impractical a setting, other early detection methods SCM camels need be investigated. Somatic cell count (SCC) the standard detecting cattle. The udder indicators of N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase (NAGase) lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity are useful diagnostic markers cow, sheep goat milk; they could potential use milk production. aim this study was improve understanding camels, specifically assess SCC, NAGase- LDH milk. In addition, associations between (defined by California Mastitis Test (CMT) score ≥3 no signs clinical mastitis) were total, 40 healthy without sampled four herds Kenya. Quarter samples collected aseptically screened using CMT. SCC analysed direct counter (DCC, DeLaval), NAGase kinetic fluorometric measures. 116 tested with CMT SCC. Of these, 88 further LDH. median 151,000 cells/mL (IQR: 49,500–709,000 cells/mL), 18.5 U/l (IQR:14.8–24.0 U/l) 12.0 8.5–16.2 respectively. All inflammatory (SCC, NAGase, LDH) significantly associated (P < 0.001). conclusion, that can used quarters SCM.

Detection of subclinical mastitis in dromedary camels (Camelus dromedaries) using somatic cell counts, california mastitis test and udder pathogen
A total of 120 quarter milk samples from 30 clinically healthy dromedary camel from Al-Jouf, Saudi Arabia were cultured to detect subclinical udder infection. The milk samples were screened by somatic cell count (SCC) and California mastitis test (CMT). Gram-positive cocci were the dominant recovered udder pathogen. The mean value of SCC was 125,000 cells/ mm. Infected quarter had generally hig...
متن کاملLactoferrin Concentration in Milk From Camels (Camelus dromedarius) With and Without Subclinical Mastitis
The purposes of this study were to investigate the levels of lactoferrin in 180 normal and 132 mastitic camel milk samples and to elucidate the effect of age, lactation stage, presence of pathogens, and somatic cell counts (SCC) on the concentration of lactoferrin in camel milk using radial immunodiffusion test. The mean log concentration of lactoferrin from mastitic camels (3.8 ± 0.67) was sig...
متن کاملAssessment of Lactate Dehydrogenase Enzyme Activity in Milk as a Marker for Detection of Subclinical Mastitis
Sub clinical mastitis is responsible for heavy economic losses throughout the world in dairy sector. The objective of present study was to investigate lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) enzyme activity in milk for detection of subclinical mastitis in buffaloes Milk samples from 60 buffaloes, including 40 subclinical infected and 20 healthy were subjected to the estimation of LDH using a LDH activity a...
متن کاملDNA Fingerprinting in Camels (Camelus dromedarius) Using Microsatellite Oligo Probes
Oligonucleotide probes specific for simple tandem repeat sequences produce individual specific DNA fingerprints in man and all animal species so far. In the present investigation (r)-p labeled oligonucleotide probes (GTG)5, (GT)8 and (GGAT)4 were used as multilocus probes to detect hypervariable microsatellites in the Indian dromedary camel population. Oligo probes were radiolabelled and hybrid...

O-GlcNAcylation is a common and dynamic modification of intracellular proteins in which β-N-acetyl-glucosamine moieties are attached to hydroxyl groups of serine or threonine residues (O-GlcNAc). Accumulating evidence suggests the critical role of protein O-GlcNAcylation in signal transduction, transcriptional control, cell cycle regulation and protein degradation. However, the exact role of O-...
